Capstone Course
The capstone course is the culminating course for all MDE Specializations. Students are expected to draw on all they have learned and produce a research project that illustrates the width and depth of their understanding of the issues currently facing the DE environment. All students are encouraged to participate in the MDE Orientation (MDE 101) offered in during week 2 of each semester. Find further information on the capstone here. Dual Degrees
Since Fall'07, the MDE has created a possibility for students to earn a second masters degree in an easier way: Dual Degrees. For general information, read more here.
If you have completed the MDE, you can go on and get a masters degree in Management or an MBA for half the credits (only 18).Read more... If you complete the MDE and would like to pursue the Master of Science in Managment, please read more here. If you have completed UMUC's masters degree in Instructional Technology (Teacher education) (MEd) , you can earn a MDE degree also with only 18 credits. Read more... How Long Can Students Access Classes?
MDE students will have access to their classes via WebTycho for 4 months after the course ends. Therefore, download any materials you would like to save from classes as soon as possible. This is very important to consider when insuring you have access to material for your e-portfolio.
TK20?
TK20 is a program required by the M. Ed. program. It is not a requirement for MDE students. When MDE students take EDTC 650 they often receive notifications about TK20 but may disregard those notifications.
