MDE Orientation
AboutThe MDE Orientation runs during the second week of each term. We use a Tycho classroom, OMDE 101, to interact during the full-week workshop.
The focus of the workshop is to help students start and/or continue their work on their e-portfolios, as well as flush out ideas and get ready for their final research project. The orientation has grown in scope, and we also use it for purposes of general orientation to the program for new and current students. More Information
Enrollment in the Orientation rolls over from session to session. Therefore, anyone enrolled in the previous session will be automatically rostered into future sessions. The class will remain in your course list and you will access it as you do a normal MDE course. Login to WebTycho and click on the class in your list. The class you should be looking for is OMDE 101 Section 9999 and the current semester code.
Those who have attended before, please return, and for those who are new to the program or have not yet participated in the Orientation, this is a great chance to find out what resources are available to support your capstone and e-portfolio efforts. Participate often throughout your MDE career to stay current on potential research questions, library resources, and options for your e-portfolio. The Orientation is a great opportunity to ask instructors, alumni and fellow students for their opinions and advice. I'm sure you will not regret, visiting and taking part in the conversation a few days during the week. |

ProcedureAnyone associated with the MDE is invited to participate, including graduates. The Orientation is free of cost.
If you have ever participated, you are still enlisted in this class, and you have access to it at all times. The same needs procedure applies if you would like your name removed from the Orientation participant roster. |
